I had an interesting experience with them. I don't like the ettl, so I use them mostly with my plus IIs. I've gotten up to 120 feet in sunlight. This wedding, I used them with an alien bee and hypersync'd to 1/1000 with a decent frame and 1/8000 with the bottom fifth having no light. The plus II was about 40-60 feet away and 15 feet up most of the time and the mini held up great.

No ETTL with any Plus II's at all. They simply do not send or recieve that data. We used the Mini TT1 as transmitter to both the TT1 as well as the Plus II's in these tests. If you use the Plus II anywhere in the mix, you will lose the ETTL functionality and will be required to go back to manual.

Thanks for the review Gino. I hope to read more soon. You said that you used the mini TT1 with a 'pocket wizard plus II' and the St-e2. Have you tried the mini TT1 with a 580Ex as the commander instead of the St-e2, and can you still get ETTL when using the plus II's. I have 4 plus II's and 4 580Ex flash guns and it would be perfect if I could use them with ETTL metering instead of having to set them all to manual metering.
